Matt Desch is CEO of Iridium (NASDAQ: IRDM), a satellite company based in Washington, DC. Iridium is the world’s largest satellite system, providing communications to ships, airplanes, and other industries across 100% of the planet that are outside cellular coverage. Once the largest bankruptcy in the world, Matt joined the company in 2006 and took it from a small company to a multi-billion dollar global company, launching a new $3B satellite system in the process. Matt has spent over 40 years in telecommunications, starting at AT&T Bell Labs, and was an early pioneer in the cellular phone wireless industry. He has a BS in Computer Science from The Ohio State University and an MBA from the University of Chicago. He is a Board of Trustee for the Aircraft Owners & Pilots Association (AOPA) and also sits on the board of Unisys (NYSE: UIS).

Stephen Malbon is the founder of Malbon Golf, along with his wife, Erica. Established in 2017, Malbon Golf has taken the sport by storm, enjoying collaborations with the likes of Nike, Polo, and Callaway. With store locations in Los Angeles and Seoul, South Korea, the brand has garnered fans in Steph Curry, Justin Bieber, Travis Scott, ScHoolboyQ, just to name a few. It has been featured extensively in not only golf media outlets but also GQ, Vogue, and many more. Malbon speaks passionately about his love of the game and their place in its evolution.

Official Caddying Story: Jim Nugent

Jim Nugent is the founder and publisher of Global Golf Post. Prior to that, he was the publisher of Golfweek and also worked with the PGA Tour. He has given back to the game of golf in a variety of ways, including serving as a long-time board member and president of the American Junior Golf Association (AJGA). Nugent has also served on the boards of the Annika Foundation and the Amateur Golf Alliance, in addition to partaking in the USGA’s Amateur Ambassador Program.

Official Caddying Story: John Ashworth

The founder of Linksoul and previously the eponymous Ashworth, John Ashworth is an icon in the golf world. But he may also have one of the longest, most unique caddying careers of anyone to ever pack bags. First caddying for his father, he looped through high school and college before making his way onto the PGA Tour, on the bag for Mark Wiebe (pictured). Paying it forward, Ashworth continues to give back to the game in myriad ways, especially through the Goat Hill Caddy & Leadership Academy, which he modeled off of George Solich’s program in Colorado.
